Reports to: Director of Adult Education and Discipleship
Status: Part Time

Goals

  • To create and nurture relationships with TBC children ages 0-5th grade and their parents, that will encourage them to create and continue a relationship with Christ.
  • Bring an infectious and creative energy to TBC Children’s program that will carry over into the children’s daily lives.
  • Engage TBC children in Biblical study, education, and socialization that aligns with TBC mission statement to create disciples through worship, study, and service.
  • A self-starting,innovative leader who can utilize a variety of methods, tools, and educational opportunities to teach TBC children about Christ including teaching and outreach via technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design dynamic, age appropriate Christian education to grow and maintain TBC Children’s program to include Sunday School and Wednesday Night programming.
  • Assist in hosting engaging social opportunities to include family focused festivals.
  • Ensure all education and activities are inclusive and supportive of all children while staying abreast of new resources and ministries to maintain a current and effective program.
  • Assist in planning Vacation Bible School (150 children) and intentional outreach to Preschool (150 children)
  • Recruit and train congregational members to assist and minister to TBC children to include managing the Safe Sanctuary Program and teacher training.
  • Produce a safe, engaging nursery program for our 0-3 year TBC children.
  • Work with entire staff team to create worship opportunities for TBC children including Jesus and Music (JAM)!
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Pastor, Director of Christian Education, and Director of Music to create cohesive programming.
  • Provide support to parents of TBC children with counsel, education, and training opportunities to support their children’s walk with Christ as well as their own.
  • Ensure that Safe Sanctuary policy is observed in all children’s ministry settings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Evident relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Bachelor’s degree in a ministry related field
  • Two years of prior Children’s ministry experience
  • Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of children
  • Innovator in programming around virtual learning opportunities
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with social media
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Affinity for children and their families and passionate about their lives
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Ability and willingness to assist in leading worship

  • Bring an infectious energy to TBC Youth program that will carry over into their daily lives.
  • Engage TBC youth in Biblical study, education, and service that aligns with TBC mission statement.
  • Strive to embody TBC mission to create disciples through worship, study, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Create dynamic Christian education and service opportunities to grow and maintain TBC Youth program.
  • Create engaging social opportunities that utilize in person and remote platforms.
  • Ensure all education and activities are inclusive and supportive of all youth while staying abreast of new resources and ministries to maintain a current and effective program.
  • Recruit and train congregational members to assist and minister to TBC youth while educating the members about the goals and concerns of our youth.
  • Work with entire staff team to create worship opportunities for TBC youth.
  • Plan and execute retreat and mission opportunities for TBC youth to encourage their growing faith.
  • Create Bible study activities and/or events to increase Biblical knowledge.
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Pastor, Director of Christian Education, and Director of Music to create cohesive programming.
  • Provide support to parents of TBC youth with counsel, education, and training opportunities to support their children’s walk with Christ as well as their own.
  • Be available to encourage, challenge, and counsel the youth and parents towards effective lives as followers of Jesus (i.e. lunch at school, attendance at extracurricular activities, home visits, and support in times of crisis, etc.)
  • Ensure that Safe Sanctuary policy is observed in all youth ministry settings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays and at times on short notice

Purpose

The Audio/Visual Director  is responsible for the facilitation of sound and media presentations for church services and approved events at The Brandermill Church.

Supervision

The A/V Director will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Music Ministries and is accountable to the Senior Pastor, Staff-Parish Relations Committee and Church Council.

Essential Job Functions

Subject to review and amendment by the Director of Music and the Church Council, the Audio/Visual Director will performing the following essential functions;

  • Supervise and facilitate the technical aspects of scheduled worship rehearsals and services each week: ie,:  video presentations, sound mixing, cameras, and video streaming.
  • Coordinate and provide training for a rotating team of volunteers to operate the technical aspects of church service, rehearsals, and outside events.
  • Recognize technical abilities within the church and create opportunities for sound/media volunteers to serve.
  • Consult with the Director of Music Ministries and offer applicable knowledge in equipment purchase decisions.
  • Assist the Director of Music with assessing and preparing for the technical needs of scheduled musicians and vocalists for rehearsals and services
  • Maintain all technical equipment for Worship Services and communicate any needed repairs or replacements to the Director of Music Ministries in a timely manner.
  • Import and finalize all worship elements created by the worship leader and speaking Pastor into Worship Software, including song arrangements and lyrics, media elements, sermon slides while ensuring all elements are presented with excellence and transition together coherently for services each week.
  • Stay in weekly communication with the Director of Music regarding the overall vision of service, series, and worship elements being planned out by ministry leaders.
  • May be asked to assist with special functions, i.e.: Youth Sundays, music events, weddings, funerals for additional compensation.
  • Ensure communication is thorough and timely.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Staff Relationships

The A/V Director will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Music Ministries  and is accountable to the Senior  Pastor, Staff-Parish Relations Committee and Church Council.

Hours

The Technical Director position is a part-time ministry (roughly 5 hours/week).
