Prayer Shawl Ministry

Offering comfort and prayer through our creative gifts

Our Prayer Shawl ministry began in 2004. Through our disciple’s loving hands, three skiens of yarn (to represent the Trinity) are knitted into tokens of love, comfort, joy, and healing. The shawls this ministry creates will bundle newborns, comfort the aged, warm the chilled cancer patient, envelope a widow, clothe a lonely soul, wrap a newly married couple in joy, and surround the broken-hearted with the love of our congregation and the grace of Jesus Christ.

This group, which has named itself the “Knit Wits,” gathers on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 1 PM in the Conference Room to enjoy fun-filled fellowship while creating these beautiful shawls that are dedicated during a worship service several times a year. All sewing projects are also welcomed and anyone is invited to join, whether you knit or not. One of our disciples will be happy to teach you.
